1549: The Three Pillars of False Doctrine and God’s True Biblical Calendar with Don Roth and Sean Walsh

Don Roth Sean Walsh covers Biblical Calendar Research in this Marketer of the Day episode. Don Roth and Sean Walsh explain how they challenge common Christian teachings by tracing doctrine back to scripture and calendar evidence. They identify three core errors: Friday death and Sunday resurrection, the Trinity, and the modern idea of church. Their calendar work uses biblical time markers, including the Genesis flood year of 385 days and six year lengths of 353, 354, 355, 383, 384, and 385 days. They argue that Christ's sign was three days and three nights in the earth, not a partial Friday-to-Sunday timeline. They also connect Sabbath observance to the fourth commandment and New Testament passages such as Hebrews and Acts 20. Their method relies on Strong's Concordance, exact dates, and reading without bias.
When lifelong churchgoers Sean Walsh and Don Roth dug deep into Scripture, original languages, and biblical chronology, they became convinced that much of mainstream Christianity rests on three major errors. In this episode, they join Robert Plank to unpack their book The Three Pillars of False Doctrine and explain why they believe the traditional Friday death / Sunday resurrection, the popular form of the Trinity doctrine, and the modern idea of church as a building or organization all fail the test of the Bible itself. Drawing on Don’s work creating a day‑by‑day Biblical calendar from Genesis forward and Sean’s “Unlock the Word” ministry, they walk through key passages on the Sabbath, the Godhead, and church, and show how translation choices and tradition have shaped what most believers assume is “just Christianity.”
Rather than asking anyone to join a new denomination, Sean and Don challenge listeners to be Bereans checking every sermon, creed, and holiday against Scripture. They discuss why Christ’s “three days and three nights” matters, how Ezekiel and Acts are commonly misread to support Sunday worship, and why knowing who the God of the Old Testament is changes how you read the entire Bible. If you’ve ever felt that certain doctrines didn’t quite add up, this conversation and the resources at UnlockTheWord.com and BiblicalCalendarProof.com invite you to put your traditions on the table and let the Bible speak for itself.
Quotes:
“If your timeline for Christ doesn’t fit three days and three nights, it’s not the Scripture that needs to move it’s your doctrine.” Don Roth
“Church isn’t a business or a building; Ecclesia is the people God has called out. If you think ‘church’ is a place you go on Sunday, you’ve already missed the context.” Sean Walsh
“When you finally read the Bible without defending your denomination, you discover how many ‘non‑negotiable’ doctrines collapse under the weight of Scripture.” Sean Walsh

Download transcript (.txt)Sean Walsh and Don Roth are here, and they're here to talk about the Bible and narrowing down specific historical dates. So we have Sean Walsh, who walked away from a lifetime in industrial sales to expose what he believed were hard truths about the financial system, and he followed a vision called unlock the word, and then he's also teamed up with Mr. Don Roth and who has engineered a traceable, factual, Biblical calendar. And we're here to discuss their amazing book, the three pillars of false doctrine, which the way that they're describing it. It's world changing, right? They've discovered things, they've researched, they've put the pieces together. So we're excited to find out about unlock the word and about the three pillars of false doctrine. So Don Roth and Sean Walsh, nice to meet you.
It's nice to meet you.
Pleasure to be here.
Wonderful. And so what are we talking about today? What did I miss in that introduction? What is your guys's current focus,
our focus is explaining that most of Christianity's teachings are not, in fact, biblical. And that comes that stems from, you know, backgrounds from both Don and I grew up in the Roman Catholic Church. Did not believe in many of the things that they were they were teaching. But that's what we were brought up in. Went from there to all the way over to the Protestants, a Pentecostal BORN AGAIN type church, and thinking that they teach the Bible. And in the journey, you come to find out as as you're studying scripture yourself, there's a lot of disconnect. There's a lot of things that don't make sense. And in that process, you know, with in this turn in the for me, from when I met Don, Don, he can attest to himself, but you know, grew up in the Lutheran church and found out what they were teaching wasn't biblical, and set him on his journey. And then, you're many years ago. I say probably 1516, years ago, Don was running an advertisement on figuring out God's calendar. And so I ordered the DVD, I did something very strange once I got it, and that is, I actually watched it, as opposed to just letting it sit on my counter, reached out to Don and started our relationship. And so it's been a journey for for me to learn the false teachings, and that's where the three pillars of false doctrine come in. They're the they're literally the pillars that hold up all the other false doctrines. It doesn't matter, from Roman Catholicism all the way over to the other side of the Protestant denominations, there's nothing in there that really is biblically accurate. I know that's a bold statement to make, but we do verify and back that up.
So very my enter into figuring out the calendar of the Bible was brought to my attention by another individual who said, You're keeping these days and you have no you haven't proved or shown that these are, in fact, days that need to be observed. For instance, we read in the New Testament, Christ says, If you love Me, keep My commandments. And this is, this is a really surprising thing to most people, but the God of the Old Testament was Jesus Christ. Now that's, that's a pretty bold statement, and but it in it the Bible, in fact, backs it up, because in John Christ says that no one has seen the Father now, obviously in the right where right in the book of Genesis, we see people dealing directly with with God. And so what God is it? Well, it's the God of the Old Testament. That's what we're dealing with. And so therefore this is a surprise to most people, and as the same thing is that you can track time, biblical time accurately to the day. So this was my challenge, and it took me about three years of study and work to actually come to produce a calendar that reflects the daily, every day of the Bible. Interesting?
Well, it sounds like a lot of work and a lot of passion, and it's a fascinating idea, right? That. You say there's the different denominations, different things we've said, and to kind of split up the ideas and say, well, kind of, here's what's been added, or here's what's a good kind of life principle, but then here's what's actually comes from the truth. And you mentioned that this book is called the three pillars of false doctrine. And you say, Sean, that the these pillars, like hold up all the other falsities. So what are these three false pillars?
Well, the first pillar is the Friday death and Sunday resurrection. So we're, we're, it's now Lent, and so most Christians are celebrating Lent. Somehow, Catholics just had Ash Wednesday recently. So timeline on with the video shot right? But anyway, none of that. It follows what Scripture says. Christ did not die on Friday and he did not rise on Sunday. And that's part of the false, false teachings. When you get out there is is brought up that well, Christ rose on Sunday. So now that's the Lord's Day. The Lord's Day is only mentioned one time in the Bible. It's mentioned in Revelation, and has nothing to do with a Sunday. Then so all the and all this teaching comes from Roman Catholicism. The Roman Catholicism is the hedge ahead of all the other denominations out there. They now not 100% agreement. That's why you had the Reformation movement, and you've had all the split offs from that, because people want to have the beliefs that they want to have. But they did all follow. Pretty much every one of them followed Roman Catholicism into the Sunday worship and what Don mentioned earlier, when, when Christ said, you know, if you love me, follow my you follow my commandments. Well, what's the fourth commandment? The fourth commandment is the Sabbath. Well, they changed it the Sabbath. Their Sabbath is now Sunday. Christ didn't that wasn't changed. That's been set in stone since the first week that it is the seventh day of the week, which is Saturday. However, it doesn't fit our lifestyle today. So we want to just do what we want to do. You know there? So if you're a Christian, and I say, you know that these these churches, do not teach biblically, I can prove it with one question, What day do they do it on? If they're doing it on Sunday. They're automatically not teaching biblically. And then you can go from there the second pillar. Go ahead. Don did you want to say something?
Well, I just want to point out the fact that in the very first chapter of Genesis, the two beings, you know, they're talking right? And one says to the other, let us right, two separate beings. Let us make man in our image and our likeness. Well, we're shaped like God. You know? We have a head and neck, same thing. That's what God has, arms, hands, the physical shape we have, the physical shape of God. But what we don't have is his character. And It's the epitome, of course, of his character is found in the 10 Commandments, not lying, not stealing, you know, having not making false gods, all of these things, keeping the Sabbath, all of these things are what he was talking about, what they were discussing now, how are they going to do that. You see, right in the beginning, he is explaining what he intends to do, what is, what is the purpose of this creation. That's a something that very few people understand,
which, yeah, which ties into what we only talked about, the two beings. That that's exactly the second pillar is the Trinity Christianity teaches. And it's a not, it's a non negotiable document. Right away there. It's foundational to the faith. As God's a trinity, which is, you know, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. But if you ask anybody to explain it, they can't explain it. There's, there's, there's convoluted explanations. They out. Then they come into talking about their one. And you try to explain, what do you mean? They're one, they're three separate beings. And, you know, understand that there are two beings. The Holy Spirit is of the Father. So there's two. And the Bible, again, explicitly lays it out. And we cover all of that in in the book The you know. And it really comes down to is, if you don't understand the Godhead is, as Don mentioned, to understand what the plan, the reason we were created, everything that was put forth for what they were looking for, it's not, it's not possible, if you don't know who they are, to understand what, you know, what the whole plan was. And so that's that's laid out point by point. And the funny thing is, I didn't realize this until researching for the book, that if I took all the main denominations, mainline Christian denominations, out there and searched for their teaching of the Trinity, and not one of them agree with the other. So if it is the foundation of the faith and it is non negotiable, you would think that there. Be one coherent message about what the Trinity is, but there's not. And you know, so even the Catholic Church, who's the one that that put it into place, calls it at the end of the day, they say, Well, it's a mystery. Well, of course it's a mystery, because if it's not true, you can't figure it out. And it's very clear how it is, which leads to the third pillar, which is church. Church as defined through the Greek translation, Ecclesia is, is the called of God. It's a group of people. It is not a business, an organization. It's not a place that you go on on a certain day which everybody goes to church on Sunday. It goes to show you that whenever people are reading that those verses, they cannot understand the context and intent of those verses. And so from there, everything else is wrong, and literally and literally everything. And I said, I'm not, we're not here to go into all that, because we got to start somewhere. We got to start at the beginning. And I, you know, as I told you, I grew up Catholic Don, grew up Lutheran, and we were indoctrinated with all the stuff too. It's learning to read the Bible without bias, without what we're already told, what it says. And that is a challenge. It's a struggle to do, because if you want to, if you want to find something that validates what you think you'll find, you know it's no different than Easter well, don't you recognize Christ's death. Of course, you recognize Christ's death in his resurrection, but that's not how God looks at it in his storyline. So you know, the Sunday he would didn't rise on Sunday, as I explained, he rose on Saturday, the Sabbath, that's when he rose. But now that's been posted into Sunday worship.
It gets back to Christ's statement that he will be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. You cannot, anyway, put three days and three nights in a Friday, crucifixion, Sunday, resurrection. People read that, read over that, and it makes they just, well, you know, it's Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Well, that's the three days. But it didn't say he would be, it says he would be in the heart of the earth for three days and three nights. That that's a powerful statement and and, in fact, that's how you prove that Christ was the Messiah. It is the proof.
This is fun to think about, right? It exercises the mind, and it's right. It reminds me of like when you talk with your friends about your favorite book, movie, politics, right? It's fun to pick apart the ideas, but is there any pushback or hostility? Does this offend people when you're like messing with their faith?
Well, politics and religion, you know. So one thing is, you know, in Don's perspective and my perspective, perspective are the same. Is we're not here to convince anybody of anything. We're not here to we're not asking you to join something where there's none of that. You know, it comes down to is, we understand that many are called, but few are chosen. And the problem that people have is they don't know where to go to find the truth, but they're we're so locked into our so we're more comfortable in our sin, in reality, than learning the truth. So there's, there are people that are there are people looking for the truth. They just don't know where to go. But most people, at the end of the day, they're not interested. But we're here as a resource for those that that want to find the truth. And even we'll tell you, too, don't believe us. If we tell you to, don't believe your pastor, minister or priest, and then we say, but you need to believe us. We're kind of hypocritical. So, you know, we tell you to be a Berean, that's, you know, Acts 17, and search the Scriptures. But even, but in the book. We validate everything with Scripture and but we're willing to be challenged. It's that's fine, but don't bring because I think so, or whatever, there are certain basic foundations that you need to have. And if you have those three pillars in your life, the Friday, that Sunday, resurrection, Trinity and church, there's nothing we're going to be able to share with you that's going to open your mind, because you're, you're you're gonna just be stuck on that. And none of those things are biblical. And those those chapters destroy them. They destroy those those pillars.
Yeah, I'll give you an example of how I what really started me off. We had a flood here in the state of Wisconsin, back in, I think 2007, or something like this. And so I thought, Well, I'm gonna read about the flood in Genesis. So I read, I read the flood, and I find out that the flood account talks about days. In other words, he. He says it rained 40 days and 40 nights, and then it continued to rain for 150 days, and then another 150 days it took for the flood to to drain off, and so and so. What day did Noah look, well, it was the first day of the next year. So that means, you know, if you when I start, wow, that's this year in length, this flood year is 385 days. That's thus, didn't we all know that it's the year is a 365 days. So how come the Bible is telling us that the flood year was 385, days. That's because the time is is calculated differently in the Bible, and so you have actually six lengths of years in the Bible. Nobody realizes this, though, then they don't. They don't understand that there's 385-384-383 and there's 255 254 250 253, days, I'm gonna do a real gold times.
Just do a little quick correction. Sorry, Don it's 355, 354, and 353, just
so that, yes, right?
If you take those, they basically the 365, and leap year, you know. But so the other six different lengths of years, from 353, four and five and 383, 384, 85 and it is the flood year, if you do all the math on it, from when it started, all the way to the at all, all the the information that is shared, and takes it back to on on the first day of nice and that's a 385, day year. And that is an eye opening thing. It's actually called the metonic cycle. So there's, there's other science out there that backs up exactly what the Bible says. There's, there's astrological science that backs us up. So, you know, God tracks time differently than we track time. The Pope, Gregory, Catholic Pope, put in the Gregorian calendar because he wanted to make sure Easter kind of always fell within a certain range. And if they were kind of following the Julian calendar, I believe at the time, and Easter would ended up in the summer. And so that's how we have our calendar. It works for us today, obviously, but it's not how the Bible and God God do it.
And like, do you think that all these changes in accuracies are just from the the passage of time, like translating from Greek and the like King James Bible and the scribes copying? Like, why did this get so split up, fractured, changed?
Well, when you get into the different translations. A lot of cases, they try to make things easier, to read, more, more understandable, you know, so King James. There's nothing wrong with the King James vibe Bible as a as a solid, solid scripture. But when you're when you're going through that, you have to understand that King James was first and foremost, what a king right? So he, when he was proving things, he was thinking in the concept of being a king. Number two is he actually thought he was the head of the church, and so at the time, and and so in the translations, when you, when you're looking through some of the wording that's used, that's, that's how it was portrayed. However, there is a bunch of other tools out there. Is that one being like Strong's concordance or the reference numbers, that there's a number attached to every one of the Hebrew Aramaic and Greek words and the definitions of these each word, and so you have to, you know, work your way through it. There's Don just did an article dealt with acts 20, verse seven, where the way that translates is, one of the things that using Christianity is as they gathered on the first of the week, and, Oh, see, they're all gathering on Sunday now. And that's, that's a, that's a proof scripture for Christianity on Sunday today, because on Acts 20, it says the first of the week. If you go back and study that out and Don just actually recently did this, it's the first of the weeks. It's the first Sabbath of the weeks that got together in the weeks leading up to Pentecost. That is the proper translation. And so when you follow all the way through in the storyline of acts 20, it even tells you that he's he's looking to get the Jerusalem for Pentecost. It's the first Sabbath of the weeks of the Pentecost. But in the translation, because they were Sunday keepers back then, gotta remember that. And so what they wanted to validate their their Sunday keeping. That's exactly how they wrote the translation. We cover that with the Trinity. There are two scriptures used in some in the basically from the King James translation, that say, well. The Holy Spirit. You have Matthew in first John baptized in the Father Son, and Holy Spirit. Well, okay, fine. That's fine if you want to, if that's gonna be your proof doctrine of the Trinity, then you have to try to explain the other 600 or 800 or whatever doctrines that prove it's wrong. But if you, if you study out what that actually says it, we explain it in the book. And then there's a really bad translation. And some of the trans translations with First John, were we covered that those are the only two places so, well, this guy's fighting through translations, yeah, and
it's, it's just, it's so, uh, it blows my mind, right? Just like looking back in history and you guys being carefully looking, and sometimes there's this one little passage, one sentence, and next thing you know, that's what gets heavily adopted going into the present day and so, but a lot of this, what you discussed, is over my head, and I want to make sure that we focus on what's important to both of you. So in the conversation that we're having, do you think there might be a missing question that I should be asking you, I just don't know what to ask you.
Well, one thing is, people say there's no place in the New Testament that says that we should be keeping the Sabbath the seventh day. But again, this is a situation, in which the translators hide the actual verbiage that's being used that Paul uses in the book of Hebrews. In the book of Hebrews, chapter four and five is the it eliminates the fact that it is the Sabbath. Now those words, you'd have to look those words up that day King James uses, and you'd find out that it's talking about keeping the seventh day Sabbath. And this is all of this, of course, is comes to the person out there the Sunday keeping Protestant believers. Because when they read things, they read it instead of asking the question, Do I understand what is really being said here. Maybe I should look further and and realize that when Christ said, If you love Me, keep My commandments, and you understand that he gave the Sabbath, the seventh day commandment, then there's a disconnect here, because all of a sudden we're keeping Sunday, and it's what is the Scripture Sean about in Ezekiel?
Alright, yeah, it's just there's Ezekiel eight chapter. Ezekiel eight is timestamp day. The story is time stamp. It says on this day of this month of this year. And it's because of Don's work, you can actually figure out exactly what day that was. And it was a case where Ezekiel was taken up and shown into the temple, so you know where they were worshiping, and Jerusalem. And by the time he got through all the abominations, the biggest abomination was that they were worshiping the sun god. And it turns out to be what day of the week that they were doing it on Sunday. It was on our Sunday. And so what does that tell you? It essentially, it's prophetic. To show what was going to happen is Christianity Today worships the sun, if you will, on the on the day of the worship of the sun god. And which brings us to one other thing real quick. Is when you get into Christianity, it really is all Jesus and no father, it's all it's all about Jesus. Nothing wrong with Jesus. We love Jesus. His he's our Lord and Savior. He's, you know, he's sacrificed. He created us. But the father, the father is who Jesus did the will of. And the father is not mentioned on Sunday churches. Mostly he did. He they don't even know about the father, wow, because there's a trinity. And then when they start teaching, they say, well, and one of the verses out there is, it says, I and My Father are one. Well, they're, they can, well, it's the same individual. So that's, that's why they don't, it's just God is Jesus? No, there's, there's another God. So when I say I and My Father are One, what that actually means is we are like minded. We agree on everything. And there is so much depth to that that would take two podcasts to go through to explain just that one verse and how it ties in on the rest of Scripture.
Whether this is a fun and interesting deep dive and sometimes, some people pay play fast and loose with their religion, right? They attend church, sometimes, read the Bible, sometimes. But I. Really just inspired by what you two have done and taking this more like engineering precise approach, and said, hey, here are some exact dates. Here are some exact statements and rules. And it can be interesting to just dig deeper about our faith and about what was really said. And so as far as us taking some next steps here and checking out the excellent website, unlock the word.com and the book, the three pillars of false doctrine. Who is this for exactly and where should someone go if they want to find out more?
Well, unlock the word.com is a easy source to go to. There's there's quite a bit of other information there. There's other videos, there's whiteboards that we've been working on. You can order the book there. You can order through Amazon, or you can get it through us. And quite honestly, if you if you need to have it for free, we'll send it to you for free. If you want to make a tax deductible donation, we'll take it. We are not making any money on it. There's no income being made on it. Everything just goes right back into the ministry. So there's, there's other studies, resources up there, Bible studies and other booklets. And then Don's website is Biblical calendar proof com. So That's Biblical calendar proof com, and on that website is the calendar generator. It has the timeline. Don's written a plethora of articles as well that are have pretty deep dives into Scripture. There's so there's, there's plenty of resources out there for somebody that's looking to learn. You know, truly what the Bible says you go to, you go to Sunday church, and they the Bible tells us about the tickling of the years. You know, we go to hear what we want to hear. You know, Catholics go. Catholics believe that John six tells you that it's okay to crucify Christ all over again at the altar and it turns into his body and blood. And they can, don't continue to read into John six to find out that that's not what it's talking about. There's, you know. So anybody that wants to see and understand, you got to start, you know, putting in the research yourself. You have to put the efforts in yourself. We're all judged individually. You're not judged because you're Catholic, you're not judged because you're Luther and you're not judged because you think you're born again. All false teachings. Nice.
And that's the world that we currently live in, right? Where you're supposed to do some research, right? We have this information available to us and and you're supposed to take control of your health or your education, or don't just get that degree, and then do nothing for 40 years, keep your mind active and keep learning more. And these, this idea of the calendar, the timeline. It's super cool. I'm scrolling through it now. You can see all the exact the year, and then the part of the Bible where it happens. So those websites you mentioned are Biblical calendar proof.com to check out that calendar that counts from creation until today, and then unlock the word.com which is for anyone who maybe, if you don't read the Bible regularly, or you're a our believer that needs a push, needs support, who is unlocked and wants to grow beyond check out these additional resources so that way you can just further deepen your knowledge and question what you believe and get this deeper understanding and enjoyment about all of it. We've been speaking with Don Roth and Sean Walsh from unlock the word.com Biblical calendar proof.com and the book the three pillars of false doctrine. And before I let both of you go, when I do these podcasts, I like to end with a little bit of a scary moment and try to stump my guests a little bit and ask about a fun or interesting quote or lesson that has served you. So what comes to mind for you guys about a fun or interesting quote or lesson?
Hmm, I'm gonna tell you I get, I get a lot of lessons when I'm talking to people, and you'll learn from from them. And there's cases where you know when you do understand what Don and I understand, you can come off because potentially, it's a know it all, and you try to avoid that. Or if you're challenging somebody, they do, they they'll, they take offense to that. And so there's sometimes, there's there's cases where you're like, I wish I didn't say that. Or, you know, you know, how do I? How do I? I really need to think about what just transpired. And there's, the funny thing is, a lot of cases, there's, there was good to that, actually most cases, if not all. Now I'm gonna go, actually go with all. I've had couple cases where I've had it, where they turned into articles. It got to the point where, with all these experiences like, you know what? Now, that was the, the final tidbit of information I needed to put together an article. And as a matter of fact, when I just put up on unlock, the word is, is Christmas and Easter biblical. So that that transpired from an example. Of things that happen where people are trying to really be obnoxiously challenging, if you will.
For me, the important question was a question or a challenge, really prove what you observe. Prove that what you observe is factually in your Bible, and so that's what was the challenge, and I took that challenge up. I believe I have fulfilled, fulfilled that challenge.
It seems so well. I am impressed with the thirst for knowledge that both of you have and and questioning what you've been told and growing as people and saying that, you know, I can make it useful if we have this argument, or if I disagree with someone, well, we can kind of put that into words, because that's something that is important and we and is important to others who are searching the the mass library of human knowledge on the internet, that way we can kind of get this, you know, get more information about our faith and about the Bible and about history and everything that goes with that. So Don Roth and Sean Walsh, the three pillars of false doctrine, unlock the word.com and Biblical calendar proof.com, it's been extremely enjoyable speaking with both of you. Thank you for being here.
Thank you. Thank you for the invitation. All right.
