And to heal the rift between heart spirit and money. We're going to talk about lots of fun stuff today. Hey, Morgana, how are things today? Oh, I'm terrific. Thank you for having me. I'm glad you're here. And I'm excited to talk about this, this money stuff and its relationship with money stuff. And so like, I've heard a little bit about this, not too much. But from what little I heard, it seemed almost like, like money almost like has, has a life of its own. And there's like a, like a spiritual and almost like a almost like a sexual component to it is that on the right track?

Morgana Rae 1:41 Ideally, yes. That's I've been coaching for over 20 years. And the number one excuse that I hear for everything we can't have do or be is money. So money becomes the the monster in our lives. Although we think consciously we pretend we like it, because of the things we want to get with it. But it's also the bad guy. And so we have this really personal relationship with money that is sort of invisible. It's the the guy who gets in the way of whatever we want the I can't afford it. Problem. And so what happens is, while we're consciously pursuing our goals, we have this unconscious battle going on, which can make it feel like we've got the brakes on or very often, with my really high income clients, what happens is they know how to make millions, 10s of millions, hundreds of millions of dollars, and they become targets of lawsuits, or they're afraid of losing what they have, or they become the bank to everybody in that love for themselves, which gives them a super powerful, unconscious reason to get rid of it. And we don't want that to happen.

Robert Plank 2:59 Right. And I can totally relate to that. And and I think that we all know, at least one person either in our past or our president who has, you know, used that excuse and said that, you know, money is in the way of me getting what I want. And then and then those people were once they they get money then the rest of their life suffers or even the kind of people where you might have had a friend or family member who has a really nice person, but then once they had money, they became just like this, this total jerk and so I can completely relate to that into you know, Money Money is the monster money is the beast money if, if it's not handled, right can can almost like make us the slaves to it. Right?

Morgana Rae 3:38 Yeah, yeah. And it can be the substitute for what would really make us happy. And then it becomes this addiction where there can never be enough and we're driven by fear. I've really believed that the only things that make human beings happy. It's really simple. It's love, lifestyle, and legacy. And either money is making those things better, or it's not. And if it's not making your life more loving, with family partner, all that a better lifestyle with time and freedom and health and, and a legacy that makes the world a better place according to your values. If money is not supporting all of those areas, you've got a problem with your relationship with money, and you deserve better. And we need to we need to change it so that you don't have to get rid of it down the line. And what I've noticed you you mentioned a minute ago about it being the spiritual and even sexual thing that something I figured out sort of accidentally over the years coaching so many clients through this process I created called financial alchemy, and I'll talk about that and why I call it that in a minute. But I noticed early on the people who are getting the big financial results when we change their money person So from the monster archetype to the new one, the people who are making the big money, their new relationship with money was kind of sexy. And the people who just had like very friendly, pleasant relationships with new ideas of money person being like God, or Oprah, or Gandhi, or a fairy, or a future self, or even a dog or a cat, God forbid, they weren't really seeing results. So everything that I teach, I actually teach because my own clients taught me what works. And this year has been a really, you know, every year it just gets bigger and bigger. And this year, I've had three clients break through the seven and eight figure range where one woman who went with me to my Bali retreat in May was already brokering a seven figure deal. By the sixth day, client hired me she was an employee, she ended up buying a $3 million data company, which she's on track to grow to $30 million in the next three to five years. And then I've ran into a former client of mine, in May when I was speaking at her event in Sun Valley, Idaho. And I found out when she was introducing me to this big room of hundreds of people. That was when I found out what happened after I coached her was she made $12 million over the last three years. And I share those numbers. Because when I talk about relationship with money, and I sound like a woowoo fairy freak, and I know I do, I feel like I do need to back it up with some real world credibility,

Robert Plank 6:37 right? It's not just just wishing it and things will happen kind of thing. Like your people who don't know, who actually are growing their businesses and growing wealth and making their money work for them and all that cool stuff.

Morgana Rae 6:49 Yeah, I'm not teaching any kind of like, you know, money fairy that's going to go out and do your work and do your life for you while you sit on the couch. Because that just disempowers you that doesn't evolve you, it's not what you need or the world needs. So instead, what I want to do is uncover your really good unconscious reasons to not have what you really want to have a need. If you are doing everything you're supposed to be doing. If you've been listening to all of Roberts podcasts and implementing everything, and you're stuck, it's not an accident. It means that below the surface, below your conscious mind, at the unconscious level, you are protecting yourself from what you're pursuing, and you're not stupid, and you are not a loser, there are always really good reasons. And the first step is to bring those out into consciousness. So you can do something with them and change it.

Robert Plank 7:46 So it sounds like from from what you're saying is that, that it starts with with changing your way of thinking and that that having a lot of money is not bad, or you know, having a little bit of money and being a being a monk or whatever is not bad. But maybe people need to change their way of thinking and change their relationship with that money.

Morgana Rae 8:03 I will go even deeper than that. I know a lot of my friends love to talk about their money mindset or your money story. And I think that's really, if it worked for me, I would teach it and I failed at that. And I'm a really good students. It didn't change anything for me. My philosophy on mindset is a mindset worked. Nobody in America would ever have to go on a diet again. Because we all have the mindset for like how to lose weight exercise, don't eat the chocolate cake, and the mindset goes out the window. The moment our appetite and our ever desire is stimulated by that chocolate cake. So we need to go a lot deeper than the head and really into our heart and into our body. The thoughts will follow I promise you the thoughts will follow. So what I do differently, my weirdness and I totally believe your wealth is in your weirdness. So here's mine, I had to make money a person I had to make it very real, just first to discover how I felt about it when my coach back in beginning of 2003 when I was really in the pits and failing financially despite a roster of movie star coaching clients, which by the way is a real accomplishment to be able to fail, despite the great website and the marketing and the testimonials on the equalise clientele. And I was still making $100 a month and I say that with the full desire to impress you with the depth of my failure. It wasn't until my coach asked me well if your money was a person who would your money be? I instantly saw out of the blue this big, scary, dirty, violent Baker who terrified me. And I could see in my mind's eye if I were at a live event with this guy, I would be having my eye on him all the time to create maximum distance between us and holy cow lightbulb moment, that was what I was doing with money. And I didn't know it until it became a person and I could feel with my whole body, how I was keeping space between myself and money as if my life depended on it. And I never knew that I felt that way about money at all until that moment. And I also knew there was no way I could have money in my life, if that was my money. So I had to get rid of that guy, which becomes a lot easier when it's a person because we human beings have a lot of experience with people. So I know a lot of my friends talk about money as energy, a measure of value, a tool, all of which is true. I just don't know how to have a relationship with energy or a measure of value or tool. But I do have experience with people. So I got rid of the biker. Yay, which created a new problem, oh, heck, I use stronger language. I don't, I don't want to like change the the rating on your podcast. And. And then it's like, oh, crap, I just got rid of my only relationship with money. I just rejected money and I live in LA. That's not going to work. So I had to replace the old relationship immediately because it felt like there was a vacuum, a big empty space. And I didn't want another monster to come in. So I thought, well, who would I be willing to have in my life? Who would I want so much that I'd be willing to have this person, even if it was money. And then I saw against Hallelujah, for overactive imaginations, I saw this tall, dark, handsome, sweet, clean cut man in a tuxedo holding a bouquet of red flowers, who is in love with me, which I got to tell you is really weird. Who wanted to woo me. And that just stopped me in my tracks. And I could feel the vulnerability of this person and how I had been hurting him all those years that I was treating him like a monster. And I asked him what he needed from me. By the way, this is important, because he needed from me because I have the body. I have the power. Everything is to give you your power back. So I asked him what he needed. And it was very sweet. He said, I need you to love me and stop treating me like a monster. Okay, fair enough. And then we had a conversation Well, okay, what does that look like? Well, when he was me, he would bring me people who wanted to hire me. And in the past, I would get all weird cotton mouth stuttering when they asked me what I charged, I know I'm the only one, your podcast audience is probably way ahead of me. But nevertheless, all of my weird gunk about I want to be spiritual, I want to be a good person, I don't want to hurt anybody by taking their money, all of that would come up. And that really hurt his feelings. So I promise that next time he brought me a gift of potential client, I would simply say, Thank you, and stop being such an ass. And the next day four people showed up wanted to hire me. And they hired me at double what I'd ever charged before and they just kept coming and coming and coming and coming. And when I you know, I used to make $100 a month now I have $100,000 months. And I travel the world with my husband getting married 100 times in 100 countries, because I've got the free time and the resources.

Robert Plank 13:27 Awesome. And enemy and there's there's so much cool stuff to unpack in there. And sort of what was clicking with me, as far as, you know, you telling talking about that story we're gonna and about how how, you know, you visualize there was there was the biker there was the it was almost like an abusive relationship. And then you had to reject him and bring in more like more of like the romance or the sweetheart, like, as I'm, as I'm hearing that I'm thinking, well, first of all that, even though like, it might seem like to some people like kind of a silly, a silly thought exercise. But what's cool about that is it actually identifies the problem. And it kind of allows you to it from what I'm hearing, it allows you to maybe tap into your feelings and your you know, like more tap into your body and feel like, you know, how money makes you react as opposed to, like you said, a lot of people just talk in terms of like energy or some abstract thing. And it's like, well, if you're only thinking in those terms, you can't actually identify where the problem is. And it's harder to tell what needs to be corrected. And the other thing that I'm hearing from that is, you know, especially the last year or two, I've been a lot more open to more of like the, I guess, like the more spiritual side of stuff, just and my attitude lately has been, you know, even if some kind of an exercise seems kind of out there kind of silly or interesting. I mean, I'm all for trying something new and doing something as just a thought exercise to see where I'm at just to do this kind of sequence. So is this, what you're describing here, you know, visualizing or trying to Okay, Figure out some kind of what money manifests itself as in your imagination. Is this part of your step by step process? And is this part of the financial alchemy stuff and all that

Morgana Rae 15:09 this is my signature process. My you know, it's like my front door, my pain door is the all the limitation that money causes because money impacts every area of our life top reason for divorce, you know, it affects our access to health care where we live, it even gets in the way of our spirituality and our purpose and all that kind of stuff. So it's, as a life coach, business coach for 20 years. It's a great place to start. So yeah, my process is six steps, and I'll walk you through it. And a really big thing that that occurred to me while you were speaking is I believe feelings matter more than thoughts. Now, don't get me wrong. I am a really brainy geek girl. I was a National Merit scholar in math and science, before I switched to religion in college. And I'm not religious, but I love I love understanding what people believe. So anyway, step number one, and this is this is where most people get it wrong. And again, everything that I'm teaching now comes from my own trial and error, like I had instant results. And I suddenly was just getting dozens and dozens of clients not and I was not out of the prosperity closet. I was not marketing this at all for two more years, until I figured out how to make it work for others. And honestly, I was failing, just like a lead balloon. They weren't hiring me for this. But I tried out and wonder why it didn't work for them when it worked for me. So I figured some stuff out. The first thing is the root cause that step number one, uncovering the root cause of your financial situation is not going to be about money. And that's the biggest surprise. So it's not your money story. It's what money represents. And money really represents it represents your worth, your love ability, and your safety. And here in the United States, your right to exist is really determined by money, it's messed up, but our worth our self worth the way other people value us. And our and our feelings of our worthiness of love is really huge, because our parents were our first money. They housed us, they fed us, they protected us, they clothed us, they told us what we were worth just like money does later. So love, always, always always is involved with our relationship with money, and then safety. So anything that is ever made you feel unloved, or unworthy, ashamed, unsafe, any you whatever it may be betrayal or an accident or that thing that you did once that just makes you cringe, anything that makes you feel bad about yourself or about the world is going to be really important here and just focus on where you have the most energy, the most negative energy and what we want to do in the first half of the process is go all out negative. So you know, my apologies to the law of attraction police, but the person who is in the most pain is going to have the easiest time and the quickest results. When I was in Sun Valley and I was speaking on the stage. Marianne Williamson was a speaker jewel was a speaker It was really great event. And one of the women who saw me speak a woman named Leslie came up to me after I spoke and confessed that she was feeling suicidal, which I take really seriously. And I spoke with her because and I I like most human beings have had that moment. So I know what it's like and i and i just told her what I would have wanted someone to say to me would have helped what would have helped me and I just said you must stay alive. It will get better. And use this to create your money monster. And by the way she did because I spoke with her three weeks later. She did the process that I'm taking a break from teaching you right now and I'll get back to it I promise but so she did the process three nights in a row she slayed her Money Monster three nights in a row and on the third night completed the process and met her money honey. The next day she received $40,000 out of the blue. Then she did it again a week later and made $10,000 immediately. And then the following week, she and I got on the phone for about 20 minutes. And I learned more about her and I pointed to some areas of her life where I thought she could find one last really deep Dark monster, and for her to work on that on her own. And then I got an email from her that a couple of hours later, she got an offer on her house, a house that had been for sale for three years and had not received a single offer in two years. Not only did she receive an offer on the house, but it's sold two days later. And that is my story about how if you are in a lot of anxiety and pain, bravo to you, because it makes the first step a done deal easy, you don't have to dig very far. Then when you have enough pain, step number two is personify the cause, like whatever is wrong with the world, whether it's in your life, or you freak out about animal abuse, or climate change, or, or the 2016 election, whatever is gonna make you crazy. You imagine that there is a horrible person who is behind it, and hates you, and is targeting you because it is your relationship with money. The worst thing you've ever said to yourself, it doesn't come from you, it came from this person outside of you. Because when we get to step number three, we destroy the monster. And we are not destroying you. And we are also not destroying your parents. Cuz I know a lot of people have had pretty monstrous experiences with parents, not all parents are, what they should be. But I will assume I'm not speaking to any parent killers. I just think that it's too hard to believe that you would kill the person who gave you life. So take the pressure off yourself. You don't have to kill your parents. Just imagine there's an even worse person who used your parents to hurt you. And get rid of the monster by any means. necessary. The bloodier the better. Make sure there are no bits leftover. And I say this and like my tribe or the lightworker, healer, vegans, go bloody globe go big. When it's gone, you'll know it. And now step number four, you can meet your money, honey, because everything that is wrong in the world, everything that has ever been wrong in your life, everything you've ever perceived as wrong in yourself, you put that in the monster, and you got rid of it. Kill it, burn it up. Maybe melt whatever left over with sulfuric acid is useful. Or cosmic vacuum cleaner, whatever you prefer. When it's gone and you know it Then you can meet all the what is left and all that's left is what is good, and what is loving and it will be this new person. And it works best if the person is a lover because lovers or equal lovers are vulnerable. And it we are we are our best selves as human beings when we are loved and in love and loving. You can hear a theme I like the word love. It turns us on men, men become the heroes that they've always wanted to be. Women get soft and feel safe and we our lives become easier. We become a lot nicer. sort of be around when we feel safe and everybody has more sex, but that's for another podcast. Then step number five is now you got a person your money is a person, have a conversation. Ask those business questions that now you've got like this amazing access to your best wisdom without any of your neuroses. So get your money honeys perspective, ask your money, Honey, what he or she needs to stay with you. You're going to get much better information than you'll get from yourself. Because your money doesn't have any of those limiting hangups. And then finally, take action. And this is big. This is not just positive vibration vision boards and blah, blah, blah. Take action, physical action, even if it doesn't make sense. Something about making an agreement with this imaginary person, a commitment that you're going to do something and then you do it. That's when the money shows up. Like Katie curtain. She agreed back in 2007 I think that she was gonna go skating. I don't know why her money honey wanted her to go skating skating in December and Ontario. A little cold. She put it off. She put it off. She put it off for three days. Nothing got better. She was just so consumed in debt and fear and anxiety and making money. Finally, she kept her commitment when skating came Receive $10,000 and I have hundreds of stories like that.

Robert Plank 25:04 I mean that this is this has blown my mind. And it's interesting and almost kind of spooky and it's making, it's making the gears turning in my head. And it's it's really going pretty deep for me and this is this is pretty cool because it's like, I think that everyone, everyone, even if they're not even fully aware of it will admit that, you know, money has some kind of bad presence in their life, right? If they're if they just kind of let things go if things are left unchecked. And so and so, you know, as you're explaining this process, a lot of things are making sense to me because I mean, I think most people wouldn't will admit that, you know, maybe money is like, a big cloud hanging over them or, you know, money is something that's like, what's the what's the term like the monkey on their back? Or a lot of Yeah, we'll use we'll use money in these terms is like, this external force that's messing me up. But this whole process of personifying money and actually realizing what it is, and, you know, destroying the bad and getting the good. I mean, it seems, it seems pretty logical right? To go to take it from this, this nebulous concept and, and everyone will admit that money is doing something to them. And it's, there's something that needs to be corrected, but maybe they don't know how, but then, by, you know, going through this process, it, it, it focuses or amplifies the problem. And like, like you said, if there's, if there's more pain, then you can get to the result faster. So it kind of it amplifies the pain so that you can solve it and get to the solution. So just to make sure that I'm getting the steps here, right. So it's six steps. So the first step is to uncover the root cause. Step two is to personify the cause step. Money Monster right Money Monster and then step three is to destroy that Money Monster. Right? Step four is to then now now the Money Monster is you know, gone away, vacuumed up, burned and acid all that stuff. Now, you can meet the new money, honey, which you know, if the, if it's like a lover, then that's that's ideal, because they're an equal to you. And then that's here, the more money you're gonna make. So it's gotta be a tall, dark and handsome man or, or a beautiful woman or something.

Morgana Rae 27:05 You know, it really doesn't matter. I it's so funny. Sometimes, like a female client will say, Well, he looks like Jani but he's a sexy Ani. You know, it's, it's a lot of fun to me when it's not somebody conventional type. Oh, and I had this male client years ago, it was so cute. So he is Gaga madly in love with his wife. It's one of my favorite things about him, like a genius guy, madly in love with his wife. And now he has this money, honey, who is physically her opposite. And the wife is interested. Like, it was so cute. He would get back to me on this. The wife was like curious, not threatened at all by this imaginary person is like, Oh, really? Oh, she's blonde. Yeah. And what is she into? And then they started having this kind of sexy competition, which created more intimacy in the relationship. Because one of the things and I bring this up, because it comes up all the time. It's like, but I'm married, how can I have a sexy imaginary friend? Well, your sexy imaginary friend doesn't have a body, but your partner does. And this can be really nice for your partner, if you bring that energy to your partner. I don't even know why went on that tangent. But something you said I think is really important. That made me think part of why this process works is because our ideas about what money is and means tends to be very vague. Energy is vague. But a person is specific. And that makes it real. And we get better results, the more specific and real we get. Interesting. And and yeah, I mean, how can you expect to solve a problem if it's if it's some vague thing and it makes perfect sense. And then so now that you have that, that you know that that manifestation in your imagination and stuff like that, so now, then you can have a conversation with that person and get information and that's step five. And then step six is to then now that that, that imaginary being has a life of their own, and it's kind of acting on their own in your head. Now, you can figure out what actions that you can take that way, it's not just a matter of feeling good and shutting out the outside world. Now you can take those physical actions like your client with the ice skating, even if those actions don't seem to make sense. It's just all the all the subconscious stuff at work, is that right? Yeah, well, it's actually I think part of it is the willingness and also the exercise of learning how to communicate and negotiate up there one one woman named Lynn wrote to me that her money honey when she met her money, honey, I used to say create and then people were like in their heads, like, does my money honey look like Jennifer Aniston or Angelina Jolie and we don't want we want it to feel like a ready made person, you know, take yourself out of it and just go with the intuition. But so this woman, her money handicap, showed up in her mind's eye dress in that white suit of john travolta in Saturday Night Fever, which is kind of silly. So she kept trying to imagine him wearing something else. But he had such a personality zone that he kept preferring the white suit. So she gave up and said, okay, and as soon as she said that, I was like, yeah. And then this is what he had to do. I mean, sometimes you'll get info from your money, honey, that makes economic sense, like do your taxes, but sometimes you get something that doesn't make sense. And I just really want to make sure that you're getting a really good connection. So harmony, honey, told her to transfer money from one bank account to another, which honestly doesn't do anything. Her situation was she was owed all this money by all these clients, and she kept invoicing and they weren't paying and she wasn't gonna be able to make payroll that week, and she was all freaked out. So she did this process and got her money, honey, and he told her to transfer money the next day, which again, made no sense. I By the way, it's not that I'm for things that don't make sense. I'm just for taking action. Anyway. So the next morning, she went to the bank, she transferred the money got in her car turned on the radio, and it was the beegees from Saturday Night Fever, which is kind of funny, considering her money, honey looks like john travolta in the white suit. On her way back to the office, she stops to pick up coffee for everybody. And she's standing in line, and she's checking her smartphone the way we all do now. And she says she got an email from a client who had been invoiced that day, who was not due to pay for another 45 days. And he emailed her that he was wiring, the full amount 10s of 1000s of dollars that day. And it she looked at the amount and it was going to cover her payroll and her debts, and then some extra, and she looked at the timestamp between the deposit slip at the bank and the email and there was a difference of two minutes. Geez, I know what took so long. Jeez. I mean, that's that's some pretty amazing stuff. And it's kind of interesting how I mean, whatever people want to call it, right? The if destiny is at play, or if it's just a coincidence, or it's once you, once you are ready to accept what's coming your way, then it kind of falls into place. And I mean, it's, there's all these cool, you know, steps and all these cool case studies that we've talked about. And we've dipped our toe in the water a little bit. But I mean, I kind of want to switch gears a little bit here and talk about you and what you do. Because I mean, you talked about this financial alchemy thing, and you've talked about these clients you have So can you tell us about like what you have out there like books and websites? And yeah, also about this, this coaching thing you do as well. And that is, to me the ideal place to start. I have one of my private clients started with the book and had her first quarter of a million dollar sales month doing the exercise on her own. And then she hired me, so and I was thrilled, I was like great, we know my stuff works on you. Morgana Rae 34:59 I would actually say started the site, oh, get the free videos. And also, if you go to the number one on Amazon page, it's on the menu on my website at Morgana ray.com. And if you do find links to Amazon to my book on Amazon on that page, but the reason I'm mentioning it is that if you come back to that page, and you enter your receipt number there, you get a secret bonus that the people who go first to Amazon don't know about. There's a free audio class that is embedded in the book for everybody because it grows my list obviously. But for people who go through my website and come back and know about this, there's also a two hour q&a call that I did when I had my book launch. And that's where things get really nitty gritty the questions people have when they try to do it themselves and they get stuck that's where the really juicy stuff comes up. So don't don't cheat yourself out of the the two hour q&a recording and come back and enter your receipt number there. And oh, also I have my money honey app at wait for it. Money honey app.com right. Crazy, isn't it where my baby podcast because I don't have hundreds like Mr. Robert Plank yet I'm maybe like 50 or something. But my my podcasts and articles just go to people. It's a way to, you know, cut down on your emails. So I created an app. And yeah, so go to Morgana ray.com get my book, browse around, do whatever you like with the quiz or the blog articles and get the apps.

Robert Plank 36:48 Awesome. So So lots of cool resources there. See? So everyone listening I mean, if you're driving in the car, how about you pull the car over and write down some of these links. If you're near a computer near a phone, I mean, just type it in. I mean, because if you wait, I mean, you're gonna get distracted, something else to come up and you won't actually open up the tab that you need to open up right now to change your life. So morgon are very calm mo rG narae.com that gets you to the coaching link that gets you to the books you can get put in your receipt number and get your secret bonus on top of the very generous audio bonus that's already in there. Does money love you.com and money honey app.com. So all places that everyone should go and check out immediately if not sooner. So Morgana, I really appreciate your message and just your unique take on all those things. And I want to thank you so much for stopping by the show today. Thank you, Robert.
