YouTube, AM2, Quality Score and Gmail Management

Here's my video newsletter for June 2009:

1. I'm still banned from YouTube... and have send them some e-mails, filled out their online form, sent them a tweet and send a snail mail letter... any other ideas?

2. The AM2 Platinum retreat was awesome but I only joined for the networking. Make some products first, build a list, start making money, then go to physical seminars, and THEN join a club like AM2, in that order.

3. Add Contact (PHP form mail with your physical address listed on the page) and Privacy (use a legal form generator) pages in small text at the bottom of your pages to improve your Google quality score if you do any pay-per-click.

4. You really need to switch to Gmail if you're bogged down with e-mail management.  Heck, forward your existing mail to Gmail and try it out.  The secret is using the Archive function.  Read a message and archive or delete... or reply to a message and archive.  But don't let your inbox contain more than 30 messages at one time.

The big question to cap it all off: My next product is going to be huge, different than anything else I have put out before, higher priced than anything else I have put out before.  What do you think it is?  Comment with your guess below.  Leave me 10 comments and I'll drop the next hint on you.

    Hi Robert,

    I’m one of ur repeat customers. I still cant believe you are banned from youtube for doing nothing wrong! Do you still have the videos in your harddrive?

    I hope you are still making videos. I assume you are going to continue with viddler?

    For your product, is it going to touch about management? so that you can do your marketing more efficient? just a wild guess.. 🙂

  2. NFL Betting says:

    Is there any reason to believe that Contact and Privacy links give you added G juice even if you don’t use PPC?

  3. Andy says:

    My guess: Platinum Mastermind Group.

  4. Alex says:

    Hi Robert,

    You might need to get a microphone you can wear or something, or stand a bit closer to the camcorder’s audio input… I could obviously hear everything, but, I had to really jack up the volume on my side.

    Alex

  5. Robert,
    It was a pleasure to meet you in Dallas and Chicago. You are a real asset to the Platinum group. Looking forward to seeing you in Austin in September.

  6. Alex says:

    Oh, btw… I like your shirt! 🙂
    Very clever… hehe

  7. Robert Plank says:

    @NFL Betting: As far as I know, it only applies to PPC. But you should still be optimized for PPC if you have an affiliate who chooses to promote.

    @Andy: Nope, guess again.

    @Alex: Can’t do it, Flip cameras don’t have external mics. I’ll mess around more with the audio boosting in Camtasia next time.

  8. Hmmm…..

    Something expensive?

  9. Dave Wooding says:

    Robert,

    No idea what it is going to be given the lack of hints … I suspect there will be a membership/continuity portion to your next product.

    Dave

  10. Hi Robert

    My guesses are:

    1. PPC guidebook.

    2. Mastermind group.

    3. Video marketing tips.

    Arun

  11. Your next product is: a Robert Plank clone.

    All we have to do is sit back, and your clone will create products, webinars, salesletters, membership sites for us. After sitting back, we log into Paypal and see how much we’ve earned.

    Cost: $2,997 per month

    Did I guess correctly? 🙂

  12. Robert Plank says:

    Come on Dave, where’s your imagination? Take a wild guess… literally, not a tame one, a wild one.

    @Arun: Good guesses. Even though I have a couple of break-even PPC campaigns and have been messing around with AdWords for years, I’m definitely not qualified to talk about it. Armand has the market cornered on that stuff with overwhelming proof.

    I’m not doing a mastermind group considering I’ve been really annoyed hosting those. Plus it’s a bad use of time… I’d rather get paid to run a webinar or class and now I have a product I can keep selling.

    Video marketing tips: Already did that with the Video Sales Tactics class.

    Keep guessing guys!

  13. Jack says:

    Robert,

    Good info… as always.

    Next product, hmmmm.

    I think it is:

    phptimewordpressmanagement on video crack

    Plan: To replace youtube as retribution for random banning of users.

    Or, it could be something else entirely…

    Whatever it is, I expect it will be fun.

    Regards,
    Jack

  14. Since you mentioned that it’s going to be “very” expensive, I’m pretty sure that you’ll be doing something like starting your own personal AM2 like membership program.

    Possible?

    I think so. You certainly have the skills and the “likability” to make it happen.

    Can’t wait to see.

    Chris

  15. Axl Midas says:

    Cheers Robert for the Gmail tips!!

    Your next product is gonna be:-

    A video sharing site where members can share the profit! 😉

    Cheers,

    Axl

  16. Eric Stein says:

    forget contacting youtube, just use a new email address… I am an ecommerce manager for a multi-million dollar company, getting google to respond to $30K in limbo in google checkout was nearly impossible, when our googlebase feed got banned, which generates $20-30K a month in sales, was nearly impossible, all in all if you harass them enough like email crazy, and call and just start asking for names of people until you get one… my favorite is just call google, ask for sergey brin, they will say he is unavailable, and ask to leave a message, then leave a message on his voicemail, that feels good… anyways, since we had serious issues, i highly doubt you will ever get a response on a banned youtube account, try to use a different email as long as they didn’t ban your ip.

  17. Matt says:

    It seems you’re about ready to do a training seminar or bootcamp type event now.

    Good luck to you mate.

    Matt

  18. John Davis says:

    Great video (and cliffhanger) Robert. My guess is that you’re cooking up a AM2-style site for commoners. The barrier to entry will be lower than AM2, but the support will be more intensive. Whadya say Robert? Is that what I smell cooking?

    John

  19. Just please don’t make it on a saturday!

    🙂

  20. Tim Warren says:

    Hey Robert,

    Liked the video newsletter.

    I’m thinking one-on-one personal coaching. We can pay you big bucks to abuse the hell out of us.

    Tim

  21. Plank for President says:

    Robert,

    You started in java and php… then to time management.

    then you quit your job….

    is it….

    ARE YOU GOING INTO POLITICS????

    (I’d easily vote plank over hillary…)

  22. Andy Beard says:

    Next product

    Robert Plank will create a product with you (php/script) to your specification, and jointly launch it with you for a 50/50 split in revenue.

    (note: Robert will now be using outsourcing for programming as his time is so valuable, but will control the development process)

    Alternatively it will be an opt-in popup that doesn’t constantly pester me with popups even though I clicked through from my email subscription 😉

  23. TipJar says:

    Just curious – why don’t you like TubeMogul?

    Oh and Vimeo > Daily Motion =)

    Your next product will be…

    1-on-1 coaching membership!?!

    =)

  24. Robert Plank says:

    You guys are killing me here. There’s almost no way I would ever do 1-on-1 personal coaching.

    Mary Wilhite, Jason Fladlien and I are hosting another Action Seminar in Austin at the end of next month, but the thing I’m launching is happening in less than 3 weeks.

    @John: What would even be inside an “AM2-like” site??

  25. Adrian says:

    Is it going to be an AdWords affiliate spy tool that will be a must have for anyone wanting to do PPC supported by a monthly membership site using {gasp} video (live video, not recorded, for heavens sake) promoted heavily by other guru types?

  26. Neal says:

    A physical product to increase “perceived value?”

    Of course, you would outsource the fulfillment and such.

    Am I even close?

  27. Robert Plank says:

    @Neal: Not a physical product.

    @Adrian: Nothing to do with PPC.

  28. Nick says:

    Robert, you are going to release a FOREX trading system that will automate the trading for us, we just have to click-click, and then cash!

  29. Robert Plank says:

    @Nick: Nope, I would never touch forex.

  30. John Davis says:

    You asked: “What would be in an AM2 site?”

    I have NO idea. It just seemed like you were moved recently by your participation in AM2, and you may have hatched a way of automating the process since you’re still the King of PHP.

    :o)

    John

  31. Valentin says:

    function leave_a_comment()
    {
    if (Robert joke mood == on)
    {
    ech.o “Hey, what are you doing here ? Market research ? You made up this question to find out what we’ll eventually need or want ? lol”‘
    }
    elseif (Robert joke mood != on)
    {
    function hide_behind_my_bed();
    }
    else ()
    {
    e.cho” I bet a new Rolls Royce against a second hand BMW that you won’t lounch your new product before june 12 2009, 00:00 gmt. That mean about 5 hours from now on. :-))))”‘
    }
    }

    Robert, .. this script is not working …could you debug it, please ?

  32. D.Marze says:

    Step by step guide (course) on how to make money online.

  33. Robert Plank says:

    “Step by step guide (course) on how to make money online.”

    Too vague. What other guesses?

  34. Nick says:

    Sure, I will try again…how to make a membership in 30 minutes flat using nothing but WordPress and your keyboard.

  35. Nick says:

    “Sure, I will try again…how to make a membership in 30 minutes flat using nothing but WordPress and your keyboard.”

    That is redundant. Scratch WordPress and just say keyboard.

  36. Robert Plank says:

    @Nick: We already did that in the PLR Copywriting class the other night 😉

  37. Robert;

    Whatever it is, I’m sure it will overdeliver and be a flat out steal of a deal.

    how many levels of stacked scarcity will you use? dimesale PLUS limited availability PLUS Bonuses to first bird responders PLUS?????

    Whatever it is, based your your rep and past performance

    = a Steal of a Deal.

  38. I bet your next product is going to be a live (in person) seminar on how to make money online step-by-step using techniques you have learned including subjects such as copywriting, product launch, time management, video production, webinars etc.

    Or something totally off the wall like a webinar on how to get rid of crab grass and make your azaleas bloom faster.

    Did I get close?

  39. Robert Plank says:

    No in-person seminar. There’s too much overhead, might as well be shipping physical products. And I’ve already co-hosted a couple of seminars recently.

  40. Robert,

    Are you aware that using barter strategies you could do an in-person seminar practically free using barter dollars?

    Izzy

  41. John Daniel says:

    Great video Robert

    I’m just starting to catch up on you posts and newsletters. can you update us on how your youtube ban situation is going?

    John

    ps i’m getting this error at the bottom of this page

    Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in /home/robertpl/public_html/wp-content/plugins/action-comments/actioncomments-plugin.php on line 75
