399: How to Become a Content Creation Machine
Are you ready to discover how you can generate so many videos, blog posts, podcast episodes, guest podcasts, live streams, and more, so that your business will have as much leads and income as you'll ever need? If so, listen in to today's episode.
- Content doesn't always mean written posts or PDF's.
- Ask real questions from real people to discover pain points. Solve real problems. Use lists/steps (for the TLDR factor). Experiment with different structures (i.e. Seth Godin lists). Think about your initial struggles (relate) and your insights (how you solved that problem). More importantly, share the interactions you had with others to find those breakthroughs so that it isn't all about you. Seriously, write questions, answer them, then delete the question.
- Use templates whenever possible. For example, answer three questions. Article or video = 3 talking points. Podcast or blog post = 3x3.
- I've used walking + EverNote to crank out a ton of material. Change your surroundings and focus on that single writing task.
- Publish often. Realizing that blogging, vlogging, and podcasting is simply getting ideas out to test your material. You'll reuse & refine your best ideas/stories for a book later. Right now, you're seeing what material is popular so you can create more.
- Write often so that you can build that muscle. Wake up a little earlier and set aside time every day for some writing.
- Keep a content piggy bank of COMPLETED articles so you're not always scrambling for content. Get ahead of that calendar and fill it up.
Quotes:
“Content doesn't always mean written posts or PDFs. Content can be YouTube videos you upload, Facebook live streams you host, or an audio podcast.” – Robert Plank
“It's important to be a real human being out there in the internet world. It's important to get your ideas figured out, because the person you're branded as today probably won't be the same branding you have 5, 10, or 15 years from now.” – Robert Plank
“Ask and answer real questions from real people to discover pain points and solve real problems.” – Robert Plank
Takeaways:
04:40 Content creation isn't limited to written posts; it spans across videos, podcasts, live streams, and multiple digital platforms.
12:15 Solving real problems requires listening to actual questions people are asking in forums, groups, and communities.
18:30 Using a structured approach like the "three by three" method can break through writer's block and make content creation more systematic.
23:20 Walking and using mobile note-taking apps can unlock creative thinking and help capture spontaneous content ideas.
31:10 Building a "content piggy bank" of completed articles in advance prevents last-minute scrambling and maintains consistent content production.

398: Five Entrepreneurial Skills You Should Develop or Sharpen as a Work at Home Internet Marketer
Listen in today as we talk about the five entrepreneurial skills you need for a successful business:
- Selling (email marketing, sales letters, webinar pitches, podcast soft sells, swipe file, hot material)
- Content creation (writing, speaking, video, structure, step-by-step, reading a lot to distill down information)
- Basic website creation (WordPress, funnels, membership sites)
- Productivity (workflow, mindset, focus, motivation, chunking, systems thinking, delegating, troubleshooting equipment/traffic/software)
- Planning & Architecture (scaling, editing the raw materials, software design, course layout, dashboard)
Quotes:
“Market more than you create. No one's telling you to cut corners, take shortcuts, or make crap—but market more than you create.” – Robert Plank
“Always have a constant flow of information—books, podcasts, courses—but also distill that information down into just a handful of actionable items you can begin using right now. There's nothing worse than going to a conference or taking a course, writing 50 pages of notes, and then never looking at them again.” – Robert Plank
“The bad news is it's super competitive now. The good news is it's easy enough for anyone to do, so there's no excuse.” – Robert Plank
Takeaways:
02:29 Marketing your content matters more than creating it - aim to spend 80% of your time promoting and 20% creating.
12:07 Build a "swipe file" of interesting marketing phrases and ideas to spark creativity and improve your selling skills.
18:12 Develop a systematic approach to repetitive business tasks using clear checklists to increase productivity and consistency.
28:12 Learn basic troubleshooting skills to quickly solve problems and keep your business moving forward.
29:34 Always have a clear vision of what you want to build, even if you don't know exactly how to get there.

Quotes:
“This is like borrowing from the bank. You're forcing your body to find energy. It's not just caffeine giving you energy—it's going straight to your adrenal glands, triggering all your stress hormones, and saying, ‘Work, work right now,’ which is why your body gets more tired.” – Rhonda Liebig
“Our whole digestion is just like your thumbprint—the entire system is uniquely designed for you.” – Rhonda Liebig
“Be yourself and don't try to portray or fake anything—that's where everything starts. That's where your food choices come from, because you're beginning to listen to yourself.” – Rhonda Liebig

10:46 Understanding your unique body's needs is more important than following generic health advice or trends.

394: Postcard Marketing, Direct Mail, and Building Customer Relationships
Many people are looking to give away copies of a free book or even purchase a list, when they haven't properly contacted their customers. Or, they look into fancy (expensive) direct mail solutions that don't get results when they haven't yet taken the time to send some quick postcards or make some quick phone calls to buyers.
Discover today how you can use our WP Kunaki plugin to collect addresses of the buyers of your membership site (as well as free members!) and how I send hand-written thank you cards to customers for 75 cents each and 90 seconds each. You'll also hear about Double Agent Cards which we used to send brownies to our customers as well as personalized items.
Quotes:
“You should know your customers' names. You should at least have some recognition if someone has bought from you again and again.” – Robert Plank
“The name of the game here is to wake people back up and remind them that I exist.” – Robert Plank
“Don't let yourself get held back by thinking, ‘I need this whole system. I need to see who's bought five or ten products from me.’ Just get started.” – Robert Plank
Takeaways:
02:20 Personal touch in marketing beats complex strategies - handwritten postcards can reconnect with customers more effectively than elaborate campaigns.
08:10 Start small with marketing efforts - sending 4-5 postcards daily is better than planning massive, never-executed campaigns.
10:47 Multiple contact points build strong customer relationships - postcards, emails, phone calls, and social media interactions create lasting connections.
11:09 Simple communication trumps overthinking - don't get stuck on tracking links, paper thickness, or complicated systems.
17:49 Know your existing customers before chasing new leads - focus on re-engaging past buyers instead of purchasing expensive, untested contact lists.

Quotes:
“If you rely on no system, you're almost guaranteed to fail. If you rely on being enthusiastic and excited every single day of the week, that's a recipe for failure too.” – Robert Plank
“Don't focus on making your podcast neat, tidy, and thorough with all your segments. You don't need any of that.” – Robert Plank
“The better you get at speaking extemporaneously, the more you'll understand how it's going.” – Robert Plank

385: Sell on Amazon in Europe for More Traffic, More Sales, More Exposure and More Money with Marketplace Superhero Stephen Somers

Stephen Somers says that, when it comes to selling on Amazon FBA, you're leaving money on the table unless you're selling in Europe. You can mail inventory to the UK and enjoy listings in Amazon marketplaces like the UK, France, Italy, Spain. Stephen explains what you need to know about setting up your European business identity and VAT tax compliance.
Just imagine if you applied the "Rule of Five" and sold 5 products, in 5 countries, 5 units per day, at 5 dollars each. That totals $18,750 in 30 days or $225k in a year, so why wouldn't you list your products in multiple Amazon marketplaces? He also believes that your products should be B.E.S.T.: Boring, Established, Sustainable, and Tangible.
Quotes:
“We're not just sellers—we're investors. We're so painfully focused on the numbers because the numbers matter. I used to think they were boring, but when they started putting dollar signs, pound signs, and euro signs in front of them, it became really exciting.” – Stephen Somers
“The core of any business is taking a simple product, selling it over and over again at ever-decreasing costs. When you do that, you've got a formula for a powerful business.” – Stephen Somers
“We typically sell what we call B.E.S.T. products, which means they're boring, established, sustainable, and tangible.” – Stephen Somers
Takeaways:
09:51 Selling on Amazon in Europe offers massive untapped potential with less competition and a larger combined market than the United States.
19:50 Understanding local market nuances, including language and consumer behavior, is crucial for successful international selling.
22:16 Focus on "boring" products that are established, sustainable, and tangible instead of chasing trendy, short-lived items.
33:24 Always calculate your numbers carefully, prioritizing profit margins over total revenue.
38:48 The "Rule of Five" strategy can help entrepreneurs scale their business by selling five products in five countries, creating multiple small revenue streams.

384: Splitly and Profit Peak: Split Test Your Amazon FBA Pricing, Images, and Product Listings with Andrew Browne

Andrew Browne is the co-founder of Splitly, which is a tool that allows you to split-test your Amazon Seller product listings. Listen in to hear as Andrew explains what Amazon selling is, what split testing is, how to use their tool to split test on Amazon, and what low hanging fruit to split test for amazing results.
Split testing on Amazon is essential for you and your business, since unlike Google, Amazon rewards increased sales with higher rankings. That means if you improve the conversion rate on your product's page, Amazon will reward you with a higher ranking and increased traffic to your FBA products.
Quotes:
“A big part of selling on Amazon is driving traffic and sales so you move up the search rankings. Amazon rewards you, and then you make more sales.” – Andrew Browne
“The hard part of split testing is actually coming up with the ideas—that's where the work comes in.” – Andrew Browne
“Always focus on what's most profitable. Always try to optimize your winners and get that extra few percent out of them.” – Andrew Browne
Takeaways:
04:33 Split testing on Amazon isn't just about changing things randomly, but about systematically improving your product listing with data-driven decisions.
05:53 Small changes in conversion rates can create massive compounding effects in your Amazon business, boosting both immediate profits and search rankings.
14:05 Amazon's search algorithm rewards sales performance differently than other platforms, making strategic optimization crucial for sellers.
18:20 Even if you're a new or small Amazon seller, split testing can help you incrementally improve your product listings with minimal risk.
23:16 Focus on testing your best-performing products with significant changes to get meaningful and faster results.

“It's really about defining a different way and being a first mover—not necessarily inventing an industry, but finding that secret sauce, that one thing that makes it unique.” – Vishal Mahtani

His goal is to help people break through their BS and amplify their productivity, profit, and performance by sharing clever mind games, life hacks, and the secrets of success found in music. Information does not equal transformation, and Derek says that you need to follow this three step process:
- open the floodgates to an idea: lower your standards about what a bad idea is, think about what's possible, and realize the "slingshot effect" (i.e. the gym makes you weaker and then you grow stronger)
- transition: sift, sort, preocess, narrow, filter, mix ideas
- completion: eliminate, edit, deadlines
Quotes:
“Breakthroughs often don't come from looking at new things. They come from looking at old things in a new way.” – Derek Doepker
“Information doesn't create transformation. Information without implementation—most people would say common sense—won't get you very good results, or any results at all.” – Derek Doepker
“One of the best ways to create really great work up to a high standard is to start by lowering your standard.” – Derek Doepker
Takeaways:
02:39 Personal development advice is universal, but its true power lies in making it specifically relevant to your unique personality and goals.
07:39 Information without implementation leads to zero progress. Learn something, then immediately put it into practice.
13:21 State management is critical - prepare yourself mentally and physically before tackling important tasks to maximize productivity.
20:22 Creativity isn't just about generating ideas, but also about filtering, structuring, and completing those ideas through a deliberate three-phase process.
26:21 High achievers often need external structure like deadlines to unlock their most innovative work and prevent endless exploration.

377: Ditch the Blueprint, Follow Your Intuition, Do What You Love, Test Things Out, Put Yourself First, Live with Love and Find Personal Fulfillment As An Entrepreneur with Heather Criswell

Heather Criswell is the founder of WiseInside, speaker, author, and host of WiseTalk Radio, a podcast sharing a revolutionary approach to heart-centered communication. She’s worked with over 30,000 children and their families, helping them see their power, own their greatness, and communicate from love. Heather stops by today to ask: what's the one thing you WANT to do today?
Far too many people are living lives they don't want to live, faking it till they make it, and are out of alignment. You know what you love to do, so you should rock the boat, test things out, and create enough "chances" so that your business begins to snowball into greater and greater successes.
Quotes:
“When I put myself first, I create magic for the world. When I put someone else first and their needs, I feel bitter, angry, resentful, and it all just crumbles to the ground.” – Heather Criswell
“We're not meant to be here to grind it out. We're not meant to hustle to the point where we kill ourselves or beat ourselves up so ridiculously that we're of no use to anybody. We're here to shine.” – Heather Criswell
“If you're happy doing your work, succeeding, feeling good about it, gaining momentum, and getting the results you're looking for—keep doing that. If you're not, then test some other things out.” – Heather Criswell
Takeaways:
03:18 Follow your heart and intuition in business, not rigid marketing blueprints.
07:14 Success can come through unexpected channels when you stay true to yourself.
17:03 Take breaks and reconnect with life when feeling stuck or frustrated.
23:49 Do one meaningful task daily that moves you forward, rather than grinding endlessly.
28:30 Entrepreneurship isn't for everyone - find work that genuinely fulfills you.
